10-16 years
Since our club started in late 2017, we are proud to have grown a wonderful base of junior athletes. We hosted our first Cairns inter-school gala day in November 2018 and have sent a suite of junior players to compete in competitions across Australia from Hobart to Wodonga. Regular training varies depending on pool availability at Woree Sports and Aquatic Centre and Trinity Bay State School. Be sure to contact us if you want to find out more about junior water polo!
Seniors
16 years and over
Cairns Water Polo runs a social domestic senior competition year round on Wednesday nights. This fun filled competition caters for all abilities, from novice to rep players. The pinnacle of our senior calendar is the Queensland Country Water Polo Championships which is held in a regional Queensland town every February. Our Cairns Men's team won bronze at the 2019 & 2022 tournaments and our Women's team won bronze at 2021 and Silver at 2022 tournaments! The 2024 WPQ Senior Country Championships will be held in Townsville 16-18 February. If you want to get involved and find out more, please contact us.
Social Polo
All ages
Why not end your weekend on a high with some social "Wednesday nights under lights" at Trinity Bay State School. All year round, players of all ages and abilities can have a social game and throw around at the T-Bay Pool Wednesday evening from 6:30-8pm. Be sure to contact us before heading down to make sure our schedule hasn't changed!
